The strength of Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho lies in handling medicines, including those in the fields of diabetes and renal dialysis, as well as diagnostic products such as the self-testing glucose meter "Glutest" series. By dealing with both prescription drugs and diagnostics, we aim to engage in close communication not only with physicians but also with medical staff who support team-based healthcare, contributing to team medical care. Through comprehensive proposals from diagnosis to treatment, we strive to be a necessary presence.

Pharmaceuticals

In the field of diabetes, our main products include the type 2 diabetes treatment "METOANA® Combination Tablet" and "SUINY® Tablet." In the renal and dialysis area, we focus on calcium receptor agonist "Upasita IV for Dialysis" and long-acting erythropoiesis-stimulating agent " Darbepoetin Alfa BS Injection." We engage in hybrid information delivery activities through both medical representatives (MR) and digital means. Furthermore, in order to deliver necessary medicines to those in need, we will contribute to society by addressing one of the social issues, drug loss, and through research and development of treatments for rare diseases.

Diabetes Domain

In addition to providing diabetes treatment drugs, we are engaged in disease awareness activities through the provision of educational brochures for patients. These activities support individuals with diabetes in leading healthier lives.

Renal and Dialysis Field

We provide a wide range of medicines to contribute to the treatment of diseases in the renal and dialysis field, which is closely related to diabetes. Similarly to the diabetes field, we will continue to make proposals that lead to an improvement in the quality of life (QOL) for patients.

Generic Prescription Drugs

We will contribute to the challenges of increasing healthcare costs through the stable supply of generic prescription drugs, with a focus on improving quality and medication adherence.

Diagnostics Business

We provide blood glucose measurement-related diagnostics, including the self-testing glucose meter "Glutest Aqua," as well as POCT (Point of Care Testing) devices. In addition to ensuring safety and accuracy, we are committed to developing blood sampling devices with the patient's needs as a priority, creating products that support our patients.

History of the Glutest Series

In 1983, we began selling the blood glucose meter "Glutest." The "Glutest E," released in 1991, received high praise for its improved accuracy and ease of handling. Since then, we have continually provided products with a focus on the perspective of patients, such as enabling blood glucose measurement with a blood volume as small as that of a sesame seed instead of the previously required amount equivalent to a grain of rice. We have also worked on reducing measurement time, downsizing devices, and improving interfaces. In 2020, we launched "Glutest Aqua," which contributes to maintaining good blood glucose management through its functions based on the concept of being "easy to see, easy to understand, and easy to use."

Other Diagnostics

We offer a range of products including the pack-type clinical chemistry analyzer "Aigia Pro (S)," the urine chemistry analyzer "Visual Reader II," and products for the cardiology domain.

Efforts in Information Provision Activities

The Medical Representatives (MR) serve as a bridge of information between medical institutions, healthcare professionals, and Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho. We collaborate with the Suzuken Group's Marketing Specialists (MS), who operate nationwide, to focus on providing information related to diabetes and kidney/dialysis fields. Through more than 200 lectures each year, we act as a conduit for community healthcare.
Additionally, we conduct online information provision activities through SANWA KAGAKU Digital MR®. By connecting with the Suzuken Group's MS online and holding meetings with healthcare professionals, we can deliver rapid and accurate information.
We imagine a brighter future for patients beyond the prescription drugs and treatment proposals we present, and we engage in our activities with the awareness that we are involved in a work of high social contribution involving life-related products.
